Ingredients
  

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
  • ¾ cup finely crushed saltine cracker crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

Method
 

  1. Begin by assembling all necessary ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Lightly coat a 5x9-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  2. Firmly press the brown sugar into the base of the prepared loaf pan, then evenly spread the ketchup over the layer of sugar.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients thoroughly and shape the mixture into a loaf.
  4. Position the formed loaf atop the ketchup and brown sugar layer in the pan.
  5. Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake for one hour, or until the juices run clear.
