Ingredients
  

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
  • ¾ cup finely crushed saltine cracker crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions
 

  • Begin by assembling all necessary ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Lightly coat a 5x9-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Firmly press the brown sugar into the base of the prepared loaf pan, then evenly spread the ketchup over the layer of sugar.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients thoroughly and shape the mixture into a loaf.
  • Position the formed loaf atop the ketchup and brown sugar layer in the pan.
  • Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake for one hour, or until the juices run clear.
