This incredibly moist meatloaf is a treasured family recipe that has garnered much affection in our household. By opting for fresh bread instead of traditional dried breadcrumbs, you achieve a meatloaf that is both juicy and flavorful.

Ingredients
  

  • Ground beef
  • Chopped onion
  • Small chunks of fresh bread
  • Beaten eggs
  • Milk
  • Chopped green bell pepper
  • Salt
  • Sage
  • Ground black pepper
  • Ketchup to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the ground beef, onion, bread chunks, beaten eggs, milk, bell pepper, salt, sage, and black pepper. Once well mixed, transfer the mixture into a 9x5-inch loaf pan, pressing it down gently. Top the loaf with a layer of ketchup according to your taste.
  • Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake until it is fully cooked, about 45 minutes. The meatloaf should no longer be pink in the center, and an instant-read thermometer should register a minimum internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
