Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Chopped onion
  • Small chunks of fresh bread
  • Beaten eggs
  • Milk
  • Chopped green bell pepper
  • Salt
  • Sage
  • Ground black pepper
  • Ketchup to taste

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the ground beef, onion, bread chunks, beaten eggs, milk, bell pepper, salt, sage, and black pepper. Once well mixed, transfer the mixture into a 9x5-inch loaf pan, pressing it down gently. Top the loaf with a layer of ketchup according to your taste.
  3. Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake until it is fully cooked, about 45 minutes. The meatloaf should no longer be pink in the center, and an instant-read thermometer should register a minimum internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
