Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken 3 pounds
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ¼ tablespoon ground black pepper
  • A pinch of salt for the cavity

Instructions

  • Begin by preparing all necessary ingredients. Preheat your outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of salt inside the cavity of the chicken. Truss the legs with kitchen string and secure the wings to ensure even cooking. Attach the chicken firmly to the rotisserie apparatus.
  • Place the chicken on the rotisserie over the preheated grill and let it cook for approximately 10 minutes.
  • While the chicken begins cooking, mix the melted butter with 1 tablespoon of salt, ground paprika, and black pepper in a small bowl to create a basting mixture.
  • Reduce the grill’s heat to medium and use a brush to baste the chicken generously with the prepared butter mixture. Close the grill lid and continue cooking, occasionally basting, until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 180°F (83°C). This should take about 1 to 1½ hours.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the rotisserie and allow it to rest for 10 to 15 minutes before carving. Serve immediately and enjoy.
