  • Fill a medium-sized saucepan with water until it is two-thirds full, ensuring a depth of about 3 inches. Bring the water to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat until it is barely simmering. Stir in the white vinegar. The water should display subtle movement with small bubbles rising from the base, but the surface must remain calm and undisturbed.
  • Crack each egg into an individual ramekin or small bowl, keeping the yolk intact. Carefully introduce the eggs into the simmering water one by one by tilting the edge of the ramekin close to the water's surface and sliding the egg gently into the pan. For multiple eggs, position them in a circular sequence to remember their order for removal. You can cook up to four eggs simultaneously.
  • Once all the eggs are in the water, promptly remove the pan from heat, secure it with a tight-fitting lid, and let it sit undisturbed for exactly four minutes. Use a slotted spoon to lift each egg out in the same sequence they were added. Allow excess water to drain briefly by holding the spoon over a paper towel-lined plate before transferring the egg to a serving plate.
  • Serve the poached eggs immediately, either as a standalone dish with a pinch of salt, a dash of paprika, or a sprinkle of cracked black pepper, or incorporate them into your favorite recipes calling for poached eggs.

Cooking times may vary depending on factors such as pan type, egg freshness, and altitude. The egg whites should be set, while the yolks remain soft and molten. If additional cooking is required, leave the eggs covered for one extra minute before checking again.
