Ingredients

  • Ground meat turkey, beef, chicken, pork, or a mixture
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs panko, or rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and position an oven rack in the middle. Prepare a rimmed baking sheet by lining it with foil for effortless cleanup. Then, lightly coat a wire rack with nonstick spray and set it on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, bread crumbs, chopped onion, minced parsley, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, basil, oregano, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper.
  • With a strong spatula or your hands (wearing latex gloves is advisable), mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Form the mixture into 1-inch balls, yielding approximately 24 meatballs.
  • Arrange the meatballs on the wire rack, brush them with olive oil, and bake until they are browned with crispy edges, which should take about 15 to 20 minutes. Ensure that the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 seconds for safe consumption.

Notes

When selecting ground meat, feel free to use any combination, such as turkey, beef, chicken, or pork, but it is advisable to avoid super-lean options like fat-free turkey breast.
