Instant Pot Wings

Discover the joy of preparing chicken wings using an Instant Pot, a method that yields incredibly tender results. This technique ensures the wings are infused with flavor before achieving a crisp finish under the broiler. It’s a nearly foolproof approach to creating delectable, finger-licking wings, potentially even better than those made in an air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 4 lb. chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce such as Frank's
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven's broiler. Prepare two medium baking sheets by lining them with aluminum foil. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken wings with garlic powder, paprika, and a generous seasoning of kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss the ingredients thoroughly to ensure the wings are evenly coated.
  • Step 2: Pour 3/4 cup of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot. Place the trivet inside the pot and arrange the seasoned wings on top. Secure the lid and select the manual setting, cooking on high pressure for 10 minutes. Once the cooking cycle concludes, perform a quick release of the pressure.
  • Step 3: While the wings are cooking, prepare the sauce. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter completely in the microwave. Once melted, whisk in the hot sauce until well combined.
  • Step 4: After releasing the pressure, transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl and toss them with half of the prepared sauce. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the lined baking sheet and place them under the broiler. Broil for approximately 4 minutes per side or until they achieve a crispy texture. Remove the wings from the baking sheet and return them to the bowl. Gently toss with the remaining sauce and serve immediately.
