Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise. Using a hand mixer, blend until the mixture is smooth and uniform. Incorporate the chopped dill, minced chives, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, stirring well to evenly distribute the flavors.
  • Spread a generous layer of the prepared cream cheese mixture onto one side of each bread slice, ensuring an even coating to act as a barrier against moisture from the cucumbers.
  • Arrange the thinly sliced cucumbers over half of the prepared bread slices, slightly overlapping them for consistent coverage. If desired, sprinkle additional fresh herbs on top for extra flavor.
  • Place the remaining slices of bread over the cucumber layer, pressing gently to secure the filling. Trim the crusts if preferred, then cut each sandwich into three neat portions for an elegant presentation.
  • Serve immediately for optimal freshness, or cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours to preserve their delicate texture.

To maintain the sandwiches' freshness, store them in an airtight container, layering them with a slightly damp paper towel to prevent the bread from drying out. Consume within 24 hours for the best taste and texture.
