  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a loaf pan by greasing or spraying it to ensure easy release after baking.
  • In a sizable mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt. Whisk the ingredients together until they are evenly blended. Next, incorporate the shredded cheddar cheese into the dry mixture, ensuring it is well-distributed. Set this bowl aside for the moment.
  • In a separate smaller bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter until they are fully integrated. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the bowl containing the dry ingredients, stirring gently just until combined. Take care not to overmix, as this can lead to a denser bread.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top if necessary. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45 to 50 minutes. The bread is done when its top is a lovely golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center emerges clean.
