Ingredients

  • onkatsu Sauce:
  • Ketchup ½ cup
  • Soy sauce 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Sherry 1 tablespoon
  • Worcestershire sauce 2 teaspoons
  • Minced garlic 1 teaspoon
  • Pork Chops:
  • Boneless pork breakfast chops 4 chops, 1 pound
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Large eggs 2
  • Panko bread crumbs 1 ½ cups
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sauce: In a medium-sized bowl, combine ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved. Set aside the sauce for later use.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Set the air fryer to a temperature of 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat.
  • Season the Pork Chops: Arrange the boneless pork chops on a clean surface, and season both sides evenly with salt and ground black pepper.
  • Prepare Coatings: Beat the eggs in a shallow dish. Place the panko bread crumbs in a separate flat dish.
  • Coat the Pork Chops: Dip each pork chop into the beaten eggs, then coat it thoroughly in the panko bread crumbs. Repeat the dipping process in the egg, followed by pressing the pork chop again into the panko, ensuring a dense, even coating. Continue with the remaining chops.
  • Air Fry the Pork Chops: Place the breaded pork chops into the preheated air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Lightly spray the tops with nonstick cooking spray. Cook for 10 minutes. Using a spatula, flip the chops, spray again with nonstick cooking spray, and cook for an additional 10 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C) when measured with an instant-read thermometer.

Notes

Serve: Transfer the cooked pork chops onto a cutting board, slice them, and serve with the prepared tonkatsu sauce.
