Ingredients

  • 4 slices of day-old bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 teaspoon confectioners' sugar or to taste

Instructions

  • egin by preheating your air fryer to 370°F (190°C). Prepare the air fryer basket by lining it with parchment paper and spraying it with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until the mixture is fully combined and smooth.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring it is thoroughly coated. Arrange the slices in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not overlap. If necessary, work in batches to maintain space between the slices.
  • Cook the bread in the preheated air fryer for 4 to 6 minutes. After this time, flip each slice and continue cooking for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, or until the French toast is golden brown and crisp.
  • Once cooked, remove the French toast from the air fryer and dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.

Notes

For a variation in flavor, consider replacing the regular milk with almond milk or coconut milk. Additionally, using almond or coconut extract in place of vanilla extract can lend a unique, nutty essence to the dish.
